Trimming objects

Is there a way to trim off a line segment that extends past a perpendicular line?

Hello,

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but I assume you mean two lines that
would intersect, but don't, because one is too short.

In that case you could just use 'edit' > 'trim' > 'edge'

But maybe i don't understand the question correct.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding your question either, but if you're just "trimming excess" off of a line, you should marquis the area by using a window, then using the command line: TR (for trim), and just click the piece you want to get rid off. If the piece isn't being trimmed, then it's because of the reply before mine, there is no intersection. In that case, zoom in and check.
