tracing

can i import a jpg image, trace over it on another layer and then export the trace in dxf format?

I've done multiple times, I'll bring in a picture, and it can be scaled then, or better, just scale the tracing when you're done. If you're taking the pictures, try and reduce the parallax, so that the items to be traced are not distorted.

There are 2 ways......Draw > Picture OR Edit > Insert Object. Have a look
at each method as they are different.

Look for "Picture From File"
This will allow you to load the JPG onto your screen.
There is an Icon for this. It is colored yellow, and looks like a couple of
mountains with a sun overhead.
