Symbol Libraries

I am new to any CAD program and bought AutoSketch ver 8 two weeks ago. I
want to use it for several things, both for work (drawing relay logic and
schematics) and for home use. At home I want to do more architectural
drawings such as floor layouts and designing woodworking projects:
furniture, decks, home remodelling, etc.
What I would like to know is if there is a source somewhere for symbols
of power tools (table saws, joiners, planers, bandsaws, etc.) normally
associated with a workshop, along with workbenches, cabinets, and storage
(wood racks, metal shelving, and stands).
Also, can AutoSketch use or convert any of the Autocad symbol libraries
(such as 'AutoDesk Symbols 2000' or individual symbols found in the Point A
area of the web? Anyone know of a good source for any of the symbols that I
am looking for that will work with AutoSketch 8? Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks.

You could try an internet search for such items....schematics may also be
available from the respective manufacturers. Check their web-sites.

Yes. If you have AutoDesk Symbols installed, open the .DWG file within
AS/QC. You will have all the blocks in the specific directory on 1 page.
Now go into Content Explorer and select Drawings....the individual symbols
are listed. Highlight symbol/s>right mouse click>send to Current Library.

I found what I was looking for through Google trial and error. There is a website for woodworkers called www.woodbin.com. On that website is a link for CAD software which eventually took me to "http://members.telocity.com/lorenh/index.html". This is entitled "CAD files for woodworkers" which includes a lot of symbols submitted in DXF format. I am hoping that they will import correctly. If not, I will keep looking. Just thought I would let people know.

Some of my stuff is there, too, Ron.

If you have any trouble with this, write Loren directly. He's
top-o-the-line.
