Spell Check stopped working

Ok, Im using AS10, on a Windows XP sp3 machine. Sometime over the last few weeks my spell check has stopped working. When I click on the spell check button while in a text edit window, nothing happens at all. I know that if there is nothing wrong with any spelling, it looks as if nothing happened, but I will miss spell words on purpose to see if it's working, and they don't get caught.

I see the enu.dct files in the Support folder in the file tree. In fact there are several .dct files shown there, enu, enu2 eng and eng2, along with what appears to be other laungage files. Is there a area to call out which .dct file should be used that I haven't found?
