Plot Files

I drafted a fairly complex floor plan and used a HPDraftPro DXL print driver
to plot it to a .plt file. When I got my plot printed out at the local
store, my vertically aligned text was now horizontally aligned. I used a
viewer and found that when I create the plot file it is changing the
alignments. I tried a few other drivers, HP7585 and HPDraftPro EXL with the
same results.

Anybody have any suggestions or have experienced this?

In researching some past discussions, the Winline Drivers seem to be
recommended for plotting files. As the cost is around $200.00, that seems
to be an expensive fix . Isn't somebody successfully plotting files with a
low cost or no cost driver out there?

I have had good luck using the HP 750 drivers. When I used the HP500 drivers,
my plots did not look very good. The print shop that you are using should have
recommendations for drivers that work with their plotter or plot software.

You can always try another print shop too. It is always nice to have a handy
print shop but with next day delivery your print shop can be on the other side
of the country and you can still get prints quickly.

Thanks for the info. What OS are you using? I tried the 750 under Win98
and it came out looking a little scattered; I was wondering if it worked
better under a different OS......

Win 98 SE.

What plotter is your print shop using? That should be the best driver to use.

My print shop is using the HPDesignJet 650. I tried that and looked at the
plt file through a viewer and it was still messed up. I am beginning to
think it is something else. Either that or my viewer is not working
properly.

Well I might have found my problem. If my font size is smaller than 0.2",
it does not seem to come out correctly using the 650, or the 750, but
otherwise it is working great now. Thanks again for the suggestions.
