Pattern fill

Can anyone help me with scaling of fill/hatch patterns

In ver9 the first 17 or so hatch patterns are editable for line spacing etc.
But the remaining 100 or so are fine when drawn full size (1:1) but once a
scale is applied the fill turns to a solid mass

Does anyone know if these fills/hatches can be edited to suit the scale of
the drawing (say 1:50 for a construction drawing of a building)?

In my newbie opinion, the AutoSketch objects (e.g. hatches, dimension labels) that are not a part of the drawn lines have undocumented "black box" behavior influenced by various things. In case it helps, here are a couple of the less obvious things that I think influence that:

- Setting the scale in the "new drawing" wizard is different (and seem to work better than) setting it later
- The hatch settings in Tools->Graphic Options -> Current
- In Tools-> Drawing Options -> Scale the "apply scale" checkbox and the two unexplained icons to the left of it.
- Whatever the settings are in the "template" that the drawing started from.

Thanks FredFred

Although I could not get your method to work it fed me in the right direction

It appears that the fill patterns are at various scales, but setting up a page and scale to start the drawing and when a scaled fill is required -
Tools- >Graphic Options->Current-> Hatch (select the required hatch) then by trial and error or measured item adjustment alter 'Hatch Scale Factor - Entity

This is working for me

Thanks again

Glad if I helped a little.

I didn't mean to imply that I had a "method", just ideas on what affects the behavior in this area which Autodesk left as an undocumented "black box"

I like AS9, but the most maddening moments are wasting time having to learn behavior by trial error things that could and should have easily been documented.
