We need a bit more info. Which version? How are you trying to make an
isometric drawing? Is it with an isometric grid?

This sounds like a classic example of an outdated video driver or
printer that AS does not like. Likely, all of your other programs work
without any problems. Go Figure.

First, update your video driver. If it is of the NVidia group.... best
wishes. There must me a hundred different drivers you can try. Various
drivers seem to affect various scenarios.

Second, See if it Crashes when running in Safe Mode.

If it still crashes, remove your printer. AS does a little "talking" to
your print driver during various activities. I have been told it only
checks on startup, yet I have seen it work fine until you try a
particular function.

Lastly, Consider any new software you may have installed. It could have
corrupted something. In that case you can try a over the top reinstall
of AS. If that does not work. Remove it via the Add-Remove feature of
windows, Use a Registry "deadlink" tool (like
http://www.webmasterfree.com/regcleaner.html from Jouni Vourio) to
remove all registry entries and then reinstall.
