Hi .. I am new to the forum and need some help trying to get readable dxf files into autosketch 9.
I do most of my design work in Illustrator and export the drawings as dxf's using the exdxf pro3 plugin. Has anyone had any success opening these in AS 9?
AS will read the built in 2004 autocad dxf from illlustrator but it is not a very clean conversion and the patterns I am creating get distorted. I am told R12 dxf work best but I'm not sure how to do this. Can anyone help at all?
Can you post to the forum for illustrator, as you will need to specify the dxf version in the exdxf plugin when you execute the export of the file. What is happening when you use v2004? v12 dxf does not use splines and converts the splines to polylines. Are there a lot of splines in your patterns, maybe you could convert them to polylines in Illustrator before exporting to dxf?
