I Need a SHX File

I have a whole series of drawings that use SHX files that I don't have,
such as ATOBL.SHX, HELVITE.SHX and X-OPTA1D.SHX. When I open the
drawings, I have to cancel out of the dialog box, which may show up many
times for each SHX file, in the process of opening one drawing. What am
I not getting? The drawings were created with Autocad (don't know what
release, most likely recent). Are these fonts, special symbols or
something else?

Thanx,

Don Weiner, PE, RCDD

Hi Don,

I don't have an answer, but I have the same problem. The most common SHX
file that "I need" is ARCHQUICK. Usually, I just select a different SHX
file that I do have and it seems to substitute OK. Of course, not knowing
what ARCHQUICK is, it would be hard for me to figure out what I'm not
getting.

Good Luck!

Scott

I have the same issue if I get an AutoCAD file from someone that uses
customized fonts. They are usually unique and only the creator, or someone
who purchased it after market, has the right .shx file. If you can get it
from them, put it in the AutoSketch Properties folder.

The best way to get these fonts is ask the person who sent them to send you
the fonts. Next way would be to do a search on the web for them. Lots of
places to get fonts, unless they are copy righted. Good luck.
