How to add a fixed amount to each side of a shape

Is there an easy way to add a fixed amount to each side of a shape? I am drawing pattern pieces and need to add 1/4" to each side for a seam allowance / burn-ring, etc. What would be the most efficient way of doing this? I am using AutoSketch Version 9. Some shapes have only straight edges but others have a combination of straight and curved edges.

I figured out how to use the offset command and it worked great for shapes with only straight sides but how would you do it for a poly-line or shapes with various arcs connected togther (or trim-joined first)? The parrallel line worked for me on a single arc but not on the poly-line oir multiple arcs. Edited by: ccress on Feb 14, 2010 3:29 PM

Hi ccress

Explode the objects to single entities and use the offset command, then you can use trim join on the result to rejoin together.
