file slow to load

I'll try to make this as clear as possible.

I create a sizable (23MB) 3D model (approx 2000 solids) and all is well with the world. I list all items in the drawing and get
3DSOLID Layer: "suspension beam"
Space: Model space
Handle = 1898
History = None
Show History = No
Bounding Box: Lower Bound X = 451.7283 , Y = -49.0353 , Z = 119.7554
Upper Bound X = 452.7283 , Y = -38.0353 , Z = 130.1553

However, after saving the file and reopening, I list the items within the drawing again and get
3DSOLID Layer: "suspension beam"
Space: Model space
Handle = 1898
Face1 Material = Global
Face2 Material = Global
Face3 Material = Global
Face4 Material = Global
Face5 Material = Global
Face6 Material = Global
Face7 Material = Global
Face8 Material = Global

I haven't assigned any materials to any solid or face. The other symptom is that the file takes for ever to open after loading 99% despite the fact that the file size is unchanged.

I have noticed this issue since version 2007.
Any clues on how to resolve this irritating/timeconsuming error?

Andy

Now....that's a REAL question. Not too many of those in this Group....!!!

Fred² is correct but thanks for letting the amateurs know there is a real
CAD life.

Everyone's a pro in some areas and an amateur in others. And a pro in each field knows to use tools that are no bigger than are needed. We deal with stuff that is really out there technically but light on CAD requirements. Other businesses have heavier CAD requirements and they have folks who are pros on CAD specifically.
