Extending "diagonal" lines

From Don. New(ish) AS7 user and 1st message.

I can extend / lengthen a horizontal line by dragging a handle having hit
x-lock, to keep it horizontal.
The same with vertical lines (y-lock) - no worries.
BUT - how do I extend / lengthen a "diagonal" or sloping line ie between 0 & 90
degrees AND keep it at the same angle. Is there a lock(s)?
I realise I can select the line and change its length on the edit bar but it
might extend the wrong way depending on how it was first drawn.
Looking thru the other messages on the site I see Harvey has produced a
"Getting Started" guide which I think would be of help to me. From where can I
download it?

Change the coordinate in the edit bar to GRID and
drag the corner handles.

Paul,

I didn't know that.

I'm a QuickCAD V8 user, but I hang around here for
this very reason. Thanks for the tip. Now I can stop building
those construction lines to "Trim Edge" to.

Hi Paul
Yes it works super - "diagonal lines" Many thanks.
I'm still trying to get Harvey's "Getting Started"
I've got a message with an attachment that should be it called "Getting Started2pdf.zip" (if I remember right), but when I open it all that's there is "No Attachment"
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

If you want to go one step further you can go to
Tools>Customize and then Key Assignments and create a [Shift + Ctrl] command
for the character G for "Align With Grid" and this way when a line is
highlighted just hold down Ctrl&Shift with one hand and hit G.

Use the Assign button to confirm the setting within
the Key Assignments box.
