DRAFIX Pro to AUTODESK - Multiple File Conversions - MACRO?

Hi,

I have hundreds (perhaps thousands) of Drafix CAD Professional Drawings
(.CAD) that I need to convert to Autodesk drawings (.SKF).

I don't want to import and use 'File', 'Save As' for every single drawing to
convert them.

I have converted multiple drawings before from DWG to CAD using a macro
similar to one in a Drafix CAD Pro. manual and it worked great. I don't

In the code of the macro, you must provide the old and new file extension
(no problem) and the old and new "filter", which must be related to the
file/drawing format. The manual I have is old and there is a small table
that lists common file "filters" (Drafix CAD, AutoCAD, Design CAD, Windows
Metafiles), but of course no Autodesk value.

Anyone have any ideas or have you done this before?

Thanks,
Donna

Hi Donna

You are not alone!

It is possible to get AS8 to default to 'CAD' format for opening saving
files, so retaining the beloved Drafix CAD format (albeit a newer version)

You will have already realised that macros are not available in AS8. (Sigh)

To get AS8 to default to CAD format requires a registry hack. Paul Jackson
has a registry merge file to accomplish this task, but if you are happy to
edit the registry I can let you know what the keys are...

It works fine for me.

And doesn't involve converting hundreds and hundreds of files.
