Hello,

Can one set the dimension numbers to a "bold" type
at the start or is "explode" afterwards the only way?

Gerhard:

You can select any of the available fonts, some of which are bold, in the
"Format Dimension " box, lable tab. It comes up on the edit bar as soon as
you select the dimension tool. Arial Black, for instance, is comparatively
bolder than Arial. Check "Save as default" to keep the font current.

What I had to do is take the bold typefont file and rename it to the
standard non-bold file name and get rid of the standard font file. Then
every time I use the font it comes out bold. I was a tech or handlettered
font that I use all the time for dimensions anyway. I imagine you could
attempt to rename the file something else but Windows may not take it.

Thanks John, Graeme and JKL,

Had hoped hoped to use my standard Swis721 BT that I use
now on all my drawings because it matched the Chartpak
Helvetica rub-ons I used on the drafting board.
Tried Aerial black, not a bad match even though not as
crisp.
Will have to get used to it but for dimensions only if
I ever get over my basic hang-up about using automatic
dimensioning.
