Defals snap

I am evaluating Ver 8 at work and am not impressed by the fact that they
(AutoDesk) have taken away the option to set the default snap to snap off
instead of use last.
Has any one come up with an adjustment to the software to fix this.
Paul said it may be possible.
One good point that I have noticed is that when using the stretch command in
a marque with one or more entities selected then it is only these entities
that are effected by the command.

If I read you right, V8's "AutoSnap" has changed from V7 ?? (could be one of the
12 mystery items)

I have not caved in to V8, but at least in V7, The only really good way to
handle the "auto snap" aspect of Autosketch is by a 3rd party macro program.

I always got a kick out of the fact that once you turn snaps off one at a time
here and there, there was no way to turn your default selection back on except
one at a time ! Brilliant ...........using the "S" Key, you either had what was
turned on "at the time" or you did not.

I solved it with an older very trusty version of "Sensiva" (beware of newer
versions causing other system problems) It's a right mouse click "draw shape on
screen" macro program. You program all the key commands, system commands you
want to perform, and with a simple flick of the wrist, it runs those commands. (
you can type a complete letter to mom just as easy - She'll never know!)

Now that I apply it with Cad drawing (everything else as well), I can't draw
without it. I have shared the most trusty version (freeware) and a "plugin" I
made for Autosketch with some users and they have loved it.

In the case of default snaps, I can simply restore any snaps I want super quick
with various >rightclickdrawonscreen< actions. The Sky is the limit as you can
change it to work however one likes.

There are also some "programmable button" macro programs like one called
"TypeItIn" that allows you to effectively "program" any series of difficult or
long drawn out key commands to a single button click.

Too bad AD failed to look at the complaints logged about the funny "default
Snap" operation over the past two years. They could have attempted to fix it in
V8.
