Can't set the Default Snaps

I've just reloaded AS9 onto a new computer and can't set the Default Snaps: the tick boxes are gray and can't be set. Does anyone know how to do this?

Could I have a bit more info.

Mainly the last snap used is saved with the drawing.

Also there is a difference between versions.

Thanks for your reply Paul. I discoverred that "Enable mulit-snap" needs to be ticked before "Active Snaps" can be selected.
