Can't Open .dwg File

I cannot open attached file. AS9 starts to open and then just stops working. I have not had a problem opening files from this architect in past. Can someone else see if they can open, and/or give me an idea of how to open. Thanks. Using Vista Home operating system.

The file is not created by an Autodesk product. Do you have any idea what software the person who sent you the file is using?

You can open with Autodesk "DWG Trueview" program and convert try this file

Jason, the program that the file was exported from is Chief Archetect. I could not open the one you attached ether. Were you ale to open either one with AS9?

I was able to opoen with Google Sketchup and exported as a 2D file and was able to open in AS9.

Opens just fine in my AutoSketch 9 on XP.

Did this problem start with a change to Vista?

Nah, there's something wrong with the originally
posted dwg.  Autosketch attempts to open it, and just continues opening
without anything actually happening.  And this is on a fairly substantial
computer (Quad-core Xeon, 4 GB ram, Radeon HD 3870, XP pro SP3).  I can let
it run all day and it just continues to eat up memory while trying to open the
drawing.  Fortunately Trueview or ACAD fixes whatever was wrong with
it.

My AutoSketch 9 on a 4 year old PC opens your .dwg drawings (including the one on your original post) in 4 seconds.

Something must be different; don't know what that is.

Apparently this is Vista related as I converted with TrueView and still could not open. FredFred, if I have a problem similar in future, would you mind opening the .dwg file and sending me a .skf file. If so please reply to my email, chiniche@comcast.net. Thanks.

I'd be happy to and did so.
