Hello

And, thanks for reminding me to update the book to V8. But there won't be
too much to add and I need to do some testing once the real version is
available but it should be in print for the next run.

However it does cover 7, so that will do most of the commands.

My only reason for this was to add any wishes that anybody else has to a
list of my own which will be sent to an interested person at Autodesk that
does not monitor this forum.

Hello and Yes that is on the list, but tell me, would you be prepared to pay
more for the macro option?

You are not missing anything, so please do not read more into my message
than is actually there.

I am offering to add any comments to my own, Just in case an opportunity
arises to get them to the right people, nothing more. Because I am a
retailer of this product, maybe one day someone asks a pertinent question
and i will be able to respond.

The answer to that question is YES.

The more important question is will I pay any money for new version with
only minor changes and the hope of fixing bugs. The answer to that is NO.

Hey Paul,

I still don't get it.

You have been in a long time association with ADesk and it is NOW you are
offering some mystery link into their mystery world.

How come you didn't offer this so-called association 18 months ago...it's
far too late to be suggesting our "wishes" can be heard by the ADesk
"powers" that lurk around the QC/AS forum, particularly after the new
versions of both have just been released.

You may remember I sat next to you at an ADesk "gunslinger" a couple of
years back. None of my wishes, wished then & to an "official" ADesk
developer from the US have come to fruition....regardless of what software
we were trying out.....they didn't listen.

They never will. I sure as blazes ain't waiting another 2 years. Just as
well my main tool of trade is AutoCAD...(EDITED) shame I have to support 210
QuickCAD users.

Ric.

Hello Ric,

Let me ask you about the linewidth problem. How is this manifesting itself
so that you feel that it is not working? Please let me know the steps that
you are using and the results you expect.

Re:

11-26-2001 11:21 PM in reply to: *Alm, H.
Hello Ric,

Actually we do monitor this discussion group at Autodesk and we are
concerned about good customer relations. When the planning was made for
upgrading QuickCAD and AutoSketch, we did a database search for issues
arising from the discussion group and from calls placed to our product
support technicians. We came up with a top ten (actually top 12 plus
additional items that the core development team felt were worth correcting)
list of defects, suggestions, etc. Emphasis was placed on making the
programs work with the newest operating systems as well as adding features
and correcting defects.

The interface has been a very successful design, still very contemporary,
and most importantly, easy to learn and use which is an important factor for
many customers that do not wish to go thru a higher learning curve such as
would be the case with upgrading to AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD. Our customers are
varied on our Retail CAD products, from the most casual part time user right
on up to the big companies that use it. Our emphasis has always been ease of
use and an attractive low price while still providing the functionality that
entice the large companies to use it.

Regards,

GreigJ.
