Hello Ric,
Actually we do monitor this discussion group at Autodesk and we are
concerned about good customer relations. When the planning was made for
upgrading QuickCAD and AutoSketch, we did a database search for issues
arising from the discussion group and from calls placed to our product
support technicians. We came up with a top ten (actually top 12 plus
additional items that the core development team felt were worth correcting)
list of defects, suggestions, etc. Emphasis was placed on making the
programs work with the newest operating systems as well as adding features
and correcting defects.
The interface has been a very successful design, still very contemporary,
and most importantly, easy to learn and use which is an important factor for
many customers that do not wish to go thru a higher learning curve such as
would be the case with upgrading to AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD. Our customers are
varied on our Retail CAD products, from the most casual part time user right
on up to the big companies that use it. Our emphasis has always been ease of
use and an attractive low price while still providing the functionality that
entice the large companies to use it.
Regards,
GreigJ.
