Autosketch 2.1 replacement

Hi,

I have a lot of files and macros created with Autosketch 2.1. I realise that the software is out of date, but have clung on to it until now. Has anyone any recommendation of what to replace it with? From what I can discover about Autosketch 10, it does not include a macro capability. The ability to create macros is very important to me. My budget is $300.

regards

Mark

Mark excuse my ignorance, but what is it you do with your macros?

I have some generic panel designs for making articles from fabrics. They are driven by parameters. In Autosketch 2.1 it's easy for me to make a generic pattern macro, with parameters in another, simpler, macro that calls the main macro. I don't mind changing my process, but I'd still like to capture the geometric rules in a file and drive each specific design with parameters.

You are correct in discovering AutoSketch 10 doesn't create/import macros.

For a $300 budget, investigate the free AutoCAD LT clones available via a
Google search. Although LT can create macros, expect a very steep learning
curve.

There is nothing else out there...certainly not in the AutoDesk stable.

Mark that sounds cool.

I think your best bet will be to ask for that as a feature in Sketch's replacement.
