Auto Sketch problems after installation on Win2k PC

Hi
I have tried loading autosketch on my Win2k PC, everything goes smoothly but when installation is finished and I try to run the application i get a pop up box saying 'the programme has not been installed properly, to exit and run setup again click cancel.' 'If you want to try to use this version of the programme anyway, type your name and click OK'.

If I do this I can use the application OK.
I have renstalled, re-booted, disabled antivirus, loaded to D:\ drive as well as C:\drive.

When filling out the on-line registration form, there is nowhere listed the seriel/CD Key number on the form. This was inputted at time of setup.
My C:\ drive is a FAT 32 partition, and the D:\drive is NTFS. Service Pack 2 has been installed on the PC and I have 500megs of phycical RAM.

Please could you advise as to what to do next...thanks adam

Hi, Its version 8. Just brought it fresh of the shelf.

Adam, this is caused by either an antivirus running in memory during
setup or read errors from your CD drive, or a combination of both. It
could also be caused by installing and running without at least Power
User privileges in Windows 2000.

Try the thorough uninstall procedure in TS45252 located here:

http://support.autodesk.com/getDoc.asp?id=TS45252

To summarize, that solution details uninstalling, removing the program
folders and Autodesk keys in the registry.

Next, set your folder options to not hide extensions for known file
types and then copy the AutoSketch CD to a folder on your desktop, log
in as administrator, or a member of the administrator group, and then
end process (not just choose 'disable' from the systray) on your
antivirus program and then run setup.exe from the foler on the desktop.

To determine your privileges under Windows 2000, open User groups from
Start/Control panel and look for your log-in name to see the security
group it's assigned to. The local administrator account can change
log-in privileges. More information on login rights can be found here:
