AS9 Resizing handles don't work right any more.

We have been using AS9 for a while and on one machine the resizing handles are not working like we expect any more.

When you have a rectangle highlighted and grab a side resizing handle (Green triangle) it moves both sides in or out not just the side you grabbed. This is not drawing specific as it happens with drawings done a couple of years ago also. It is also messed up when resizing text or other entities.

Is there some control key that can change the resizing mode, like Control - E changes text inset mode?

Also is there anyplace to get all the default keyboard shortcuts. The help file has some but I don't think it has all of them because I did not see the Control -E for editing there.

Thanks in advance,

John

Select the rectangle. Move cursor over AboutPoint (crossed arrows only)
and RightClick. Uncheck "Scale About Here." That will allow you to move
only one side of the rectangle at a time.

There are a host of keyboard shortcuts, almost every letter in the
alphabet+Ctrl. On Main Menu, choose Help>AutoSketch Help> and Index tab.
Input "shortcuts" and D-Click "keyboard." Use the ones that are useful
to you.

Harvey,

Thanks that was it. We are up running again.

John,

Just for giggles, you might try moving the AboutPoint outside the
rectangle somewhere on the median, and then check the "ScaleAboutHere"
box. Now move one of the vertical elements toward the new AboutPoint,
across it, and onto the opposite side. Watch what happens to the
rectangle as this happens.

Goodness knows when or why one would want to do this, possibly to move
the entire entity to another position on the drawing relative to the new
AboutPoint. Maybe some archy or cad-type could suggest a use. Otherwise,
it's just an exercise to understand what "ScaleAboutHere" means.

It's up to you.

Harvey,

That is interesting. I agree I'm not sure what use it is but an interesting feature.

Thanks again,

John
