linked dwg overlay

I want to add a dwg as overlay but i get the message that the drawing is linked to another 3d Factory layout.

How can i find the 3d Factory layout where the dwg is linked to.

Mvg Jos

Your drawings are only as good as the symbols that complete them...

Or are you using Remote Desktop from the server, and accessing your PC?

This is whate we do.

OK, so you're saying that when you log into your PC via Remote Desktop you don't see the Factory tab, but logged in directly you do?

I've never seen anything like that, and I can't imagine what would cause it. Are you logged in as the same user in both scenarios?

When you go to the ApplicationPlugins directory that I mentioned earlier, what do you see (in both log-in scenarios)?

Thanks,

  Jeff

In both i see the same.

The only different is the Cuix file.

When i log into my pc i see there is the cuix file and when i log into Remote there is no cuix file.

That must have something to do with it.

Did you try resetting the profile in the scenario where it's not working?

Spoiler

Yes, we often use Remote Desktop from one PC to access another PC. But we are not working with this senario, from my own PC login with a serevr account, and then remote to my own PC again. could you let me know the benefit in this senario?

Hi - Yes, you seem to be the only one with this problem - as I mentioned, we use Remote Desktop all the time, and don't see this. Have you tried logging into your PC directly with the login that you use with Remote Desktop? I'd suspect you'd see the same thing. Jeff

When i login to the Remote i have two explorers, see the attachment.

To the left its the way when i go to the server and i don't see my own pc.

To the right its the way when i go to my own pc.

When i loggin to my pc i don't see the server, partition H:M:P

I have made a new acad profile at home and used it at my company but that is not working.

I have another problem, everytime i start acad i habe to activate my profile.

Everytime it switch back to Vanilla.

Could it be that i have problems with the startup script when i loggin to the server?

I also loaded the Fact cui with menuload and then i see the tab in the ribbon but its not compleet

The 'FactApplication_R19.0bundle' is a plugin.

Is it possible that the plugin is blocked by the startup script when i loggin to the server?

We have a found, if the FDS isntalled by one account, but you log in the PC with another account, then the result is the Factory ribbon can appear but all the Factory commends can't be used. And some time the Factory Ribbon is not appearing also.

BTW, that you said active profile in AutoCAD M or AutoCAD A can't be saved, we can re-produce it with this same senario.

SO here we have reported a defect for this issue.

It may be the reason for your issue. @Jeff, any walk around you can suggest for this case?

thanks,

Irene

I think it is caused by the different login user account.  The login user account is not the user account which you used to install FDS . I can reproduce it on my computer. When I use another user account to login, ACA or ACM can't remember the last profile when I launch again. Thank you for discover this defect.

Sometimes i had the same problem.

Mostly it worked fine after i started a new factory layout...

an empty one, but the icon appeared then and i was able to

acess the factory suite options then.

No remote in use here.

It´s no solution - but it works

Is this profile issue only by acad 2013, because my colleague who works with acad 2012 don't have that problem.

Today i reinstallled all the autodesk Factory Design software again with the Admin account where all other colleague have intalled there software but i have still the same profile problem.

Have you tried to log into your PC from Remote Desktop by your PC admin account and this account is you used to install FDS?

Does the profile problem also reproduce when you directly login your PC?

And Factory command can be used from remote desktop right now?

When i log in directly to my pc its the same problem.

The FDS commands can be used when i login directly but not when i login white my own account to the server.
