ESTmep Sub-Assembly - Custom Data to "Mother", should flow to "Children"

When one assigns Custom Data to the "Mother" (itm Name) of a Sub-Assembly, the "Children" (individual components within the Sub-Assembly) should be assigned the same custom data. Right now, when one assigns Custom Data to a job, or a portion of a job, one must be certain that ALL sub-assemblies are open, or the items within the sub-assemblies will NOT be assigned the Custom Data

1/2 agree. I can see where both behaviors would be beneficial depending on the type of data you're using as Custom data.

The type of Custom Data we use is "Zone". We use this for break-out purposes of geographical areas, or areas where we feel we will need to apply a different labor multiplier due to differing installation conditions. As an estimator, I have never wanted custom data to only apply to the "Mother" and not the "Children". What instances have you come across (1/2 the time)?

Would definitely be nice to have the option - a prompt when exploding sub assemblies, a setting in the item properties, a way to script to both the parent and the children while still an assembly....
