Watermark

What's the best way to produce a watermark within paperspace.

I basically want to have "Pre-approved drawings" in big letters across the main body of our drawings, for some reason our clients don't seem to get it!!

I've managed to produce a layer that sits on top of the paper but I cannot seem to get it below the viewport details.

As always all help gratefully received.

We use a basic SHX font like Simplex, let it be written over
the viewport too, since that is what it's there for, to
catch everyone's attention 😉

I've got it to write over the viewport but in fairness I'd like the text to be printed on top of it as my client's can still use it for quotation purposes, just if they start building then they have been warned.

Is there any way to send it underneath the viewport?

A bolder SHX font with a 50% screening can look good

Here's an example using the TIMES.shx that worked fairly well. On-screen it
seems bolder than what it prints.

Yesterday's Cadalyst Newsline (Vol.11 No.9, 3/13/06) had a story in this
subject (kind of), using images with transparancy turned on. They used a
little PhotoChop magic and created tiff images with an Alpha channel to
allow "underlying" image to show thru. You may want to try that route, if
your'e ok with P.S.

Perhaps just a 50% font over a portion of the title block that is critical
(like where the SEAL goes) that mentions it's NOT FOR CONSTRUCTION will do.

We have a few methods to get this.
One is just a block like I mentioned for printed sets that stands in for the seal.

Another is a custom script that overlay's "not for construction" on a set of
PDF's for electronic submittal.

Another is a "block" in paper space that overlays the same, in 50% across the
entire sheet.

At some point the Client/Consultant must take notice or responsibility for
their actions if they use sheets that are clearly labeled NFC.

Ben,

We do something similar and for us the key to get the paperspace text behind
the viewport information is in the Plot dialog box or Page Setup dialog box.
Do NOT put a checkmark next to "Plot paperspace last". Our screened bold
text is then behind the viewport linework and information.

Hopefully that helps.

I know this is really old but just in case it may help someone: If you have a full Acrobat program you can put a watermark on pages in there and it is much easier. Not sure why Acad doesn't have text transparency though; seems easy enough to do...
