Unable to save drawing . . .

Since changing over to Server 2003 in our Boston office the users have been getting this message:

"Unable to save to drawing {the name of the drawing} as it is being accessed by another session.
Drawing saved to savE0.tmp"

I have checked open files on the server when the error is present and can confirm that no other person has the file open.

If the user waits for several minutes, the save will work and the error never comes up when closing ADT5 down.

Has anyone else had any problems with server 2003?

Does anyone have any suggestions on trouble shooting this issue?

I suspect its more of an Xref issue with conflicting settings. I looked
around and found this:

If the drawing has an xref in it and someone else has the xref opened it
will not save unless both parties have
"XLOADCTL" = "0"
Or go to "OPTION", "OPEN AND SAVE"
"DEMAND LOAD XREFS"
and make sure it is set to "DISABLED"

Paul:

That was the first thing checked and is not the problem. All users use a standard profile and the XLOADCTL variable is set correctly. Further, I have watched Open Files in Server Management and can confirm that the file(s) in question was not being accessed by any other user.

I have had this problem also, I am only able to save the drawing by closing it, then I can re-open it again.

Has any found a solution to this.  We are getting this a lot now that we are working files that share similar xrefs.
