Trim command gone haywire

In the last two days, my trim command has been acting more like a break
command to begin with. I usually hit enter twice after invoking the
trim command and start trimming to the logical edges. Now, the first
time I try to trim something, it acts like the break command and takes a
small portion out of the line, wall, or whatever I'm trimming. Then,
instead of trimming back to the next logical cutting edge, it will trim
a little piece at a time for 2, 3, 4, or more times till it gets back to
that next cutting edge. I've tried changing my osnaps to drop the
apparent intersection, but that didn't help.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bobby Hanks

Bobby,

Set Edgemode to 0. When this variable is set to 1, it makes the Trim command work in a
different way when you hit "Enter" to select all possible entities as cutting edges.
When you pick a segment to be trimmed, it can be trimmed by any line whose extension
would intersect the segment.
This variable works in a similar way for the Extend command.

Alfredo,

Thank you!! That was the problem. I have no idea how it was changed.
I am the only person who ever uses this computer. ???
Thanks,
Bobby
