railing style

attached is a drawing with various railing styles. if you look at the "work" layout you can see two objects just below the floor plan. if you look at the model vp these show up as just two handrails. if you highlight the railing and go to edit railing style the true railing style is shown in the viewer. can somebody point me in the right direction?

Select the rail, Properties Palette, Rail Locations.
