It actually takes less time to do it with plain
old vanilla AutoCAD. By the time you set up your templates, and get the
required training you would have done three projects already.

True. And if you only do three projects in
your entire career, the setup time is not cost effective. But starting with
project #4, you start working faster with fewer errors.

Come on people, let's stop playing with
these toys already
, and let's solve the problems inherent to
ARCHITECTURE.

I say, make TIME to work on the problems
inherent in Architecture, by making the computer do AS MUCH BRAINLESS WORK AS
POSSIBLE. Coordinating schedules is pretty brainless INHO. As is back checking
sections and elevations.

Just my $0.02 :smileywink:

The OE's work as advertised, but they aren't useful enough...
We use ADT, and send our engineers plan backgrounds in ADT3 format. They use
LT 2000i with an OE.
That process works OK, except...
The OE gives them no control over Display Configurations.

Without this ability, either:
1. I just don't use them, and create multiple plans for different displays
(plan, reflected, etc)
2. I use them, and have to setup *each* of their viewports that display my
plan for them.

I don't like either alternative...

I was born in 1957. My parents' last name was "Dillon". All their friends
were big fans of Gunsmoke.

It was pre-ordained.

Yes, it's my real name. And strangely enough, you'd be surprised how many
others out there have the same name.

Now that we settled that, how did you come by yours? Eight dots from
somewhere just isn't that cool. Go work on it.
