Layers for Elevation Lines

Is there a drawing or template that will import the correct layers
for everything in Desktop. I am drawing Elevations and when I insert the
Elevation
line in comes in layer 0. I just need a refresher course on that layer
thing.

Any help is appreciated

Eric, What template are you using for new drawings? Try the ADT Aec Arch
(Imperial).dwt . The Layers ; A-Elev-Iden should be created when adding the
Elevation line, and A-Elev when creating the 2D Elevation itself.
