exploding but keep the clip

It doesn't happen very often but sometimes it would be nice to explode a xcliped block while keeping the stuff inside the clip boundary and trimming/discarding everything outside the clip boundary. Is anyone aware of a routine to do this? Thanks!

Try BLOCK command, then EXPLODE. -- Dean Saadallah Add-on products for LT http://www.pendean.com/lt --

I've tried that, but when you explode the block you get the whole block showing up not just the clipped part. As an example, we have some building sections that we've xref'd into a sheet and then clipped to get just the details we want. We want to see if we can find an easy way of just getting the clipped part so we can add the details to our detail library without having to trim, erase, etc. the remainder of the drawing. Obviously, there are ways to get the job done but the operative word here is "easy" (translate as fast and mindless). Thanks again
