Curved angled wall

I was wondering can ADT 3.3 create a curved angled (Section angled wall,
Plan curved wall). If so will it allow me to insert windows etc....

Yes and yes. To create the curved angled wall, you will need to look into
using sweep profiles along curved walls. There has been information posted
in the past about wall sweeps within this newsgroup, but post back if you
need more info or cannot find any past discussions.

yes, define section (profile). draw curved wall in plan. apply wall sweep profile. yes it is a wall and will allow for window and door placement. Tip the profile sets the size of the wall so make sure to change width in the props to accomidate for door and window punch through in wall. remimber that it will not rotated doors and windows to mach wall slope, thiss would have to be done in anchor props of object.

You might be able to apply a Wall Modifier or Profile to a curved wall, depending on exactly what you want. Read up on those. Bob

The 2 other replies above (both good) came in while I was typing. If you want the curved wall to look more "freeform", with variations in the curve, ADT will create it from several segments, which will give you problems with window placement. Bob

Does this work with Curtain Wall also? We have a High Rise
project that is moving in that direction and I know the this question will
come up very soon.

Thanks, Ron

Sorry to inform you, as powerful as curtain walls are that I do not believe that it is possible. Curtainwalls to my knowledge are vertical and can curve in one direction. I have seen walls with a compound curve on the top converted into a curtain wall posted here before but not a canted curve. What I have done in the past, make the wall the shape I want it and do 3d modifiers to remove the glazing opening or convert the wall into a mass element and do booleans to remove the openings. With the new features maybe the old solid modeling tech may work. See a post I did for a sphere curtainwall. Posted in adt 3 group and CF may 30. I bet you could make a curtian wall do it but would be a long hard road to get there. The only thing I could think of is to define all the profiles with the known offset distances, and custom panels made at the right angle. Still think mitering would be a problem. Not very flexible in my thinking if a change where to come up. Hopefully Adesk will get the acquired Revit parametric modeler running so we can do this. Oops here come the Revit comments… Maybe Rob Stars Cutrainwall can do this, ROB????

I have made a crude example of curtain wall that is canted posted in CF "cantcurve CW". It can be drawn on a curve. It is a cured example using custom block to achieve it. Needs more work to make it look good. Very much a PITA, probably easier to do with solids or some other technique. Probably will have to wait for ADT 4 or 5 for this feature.
