I'm a little late coming into this, but I must say a few things.
Yes DTI does add a bit of code to the acad2000doc.lsp file. Uninstalling
will remove it. Or, if the file it tries to load has been deleted, it
harmlessly does nothing. You can check your MENULOAD, and if the DTI menu is
not loaded, there is no hidden "influence" anywhere.
The problem continued after Christopher uninstalled DTI, which means that
blaming DTI for the problem was unjustified. We have a lot of people using
our add-on and get very few reports of problems.
The DTI package has been tested and examined by Autodesk, in a effort to
find any problems. None were fiound, and it worked fine. I don't know if
they want this public, so I won't mention any names - he can chime in here
if he cares to do so.
I can understand that if problems arise, any third part add-on is a natural
cause of suspicion and a logical step is to try eliminating it. But I feel
the the language used by Reid Addis ("Get rid of DTI Tech's add on
program!") and his insistance on it being a problem is totally unwarrented
bad-mouthing.
