It appears from your imagee that you are reading the newsgroups via the web.
I read them using the Outlook Newsreader. Works similar to my email. Outlook
Express has this feature also. As does Thunderbird and others.

what is the Outlook Newsreader? I thought Outlook did not read newsgroups
so for a while I used both Outlook and OE, but finally I just use Outlook
Express for email and newsgroups.

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and then click the No
button.

My outlook is usually promising. But I use Netscape and get a small ( my line returned there) box that is about 10 lines deep but will scrol as needed.

PierreL,

I had this same problem before. I can't remember the fix right off, but I
found it on Microsoft's support site: http://support.microsoft.com.

Jack,

Well, not exactly sure, but it looks just like Outlook Express, but without
any type of the email functions. It says Outlook Newsreader in the title
bar, but if you do a Help>About, it says Outlook Express. I think Outlook is
somehow just using the "engine" of OE , and is just accessing the Newsreader
function. I am using office 2003. If I remember correctly in older versions
of Office, Outlook would launch plain Outlook Express for the Newsgroup
reading task. That was a kinda 'hit-n-miss'.

Oh man?
Not getting much work done this morning I am trying to set newsgroup in Outlook. I have tried some of what they suggest on microsoft support like setting up newsgroup in Express Then it is suppose to work in Outlook? Can not find NNTP Account there asking in the Attach file:
Wondering if that's the solution?

Try this, go to the windows control panel - select internet options - then
the programs tab. From there set outlook express as your newsreader.

Then go back to outlook and see if news shows up in your go pulldown. If it
does work then make sure if oulook prompts you to make it your default clear
the "always perform this check..." box and select no.

The simple way...

Go to http://discussion.autodesk.com

Select the link you want.

Select the newsreader link for the discussion area you want
to join.

It comes up in your default news reader set up in your
default web browser in Windows. You should be able to simply
Subscribe to it however your preferred news reader lets you
do so.
Repeat for every other discussion area you want to join.

Account is: discussion.autodesk.com. Then you'll have to subscribe to any
groups that you are interested in. It might be easier to try Dean's method,
as listed in the reply below this one.

Outlook > Tools > Customize > Switch to Command tab > Select Go in
Categories (Left Panel) > Select News in Commands (Right Panel) > Drag and
Drop News onto your Go Drop Down Menu.
