Arch Desktop objects to 2D - color management

Alot of the times the color of an object is controlled by the wall style
or door style etc. and not the layer. What system do you have? The
Display Prop in ADT can override any default layer color. One thing you
could try is to have the architect turn the "Proxygraphics" off before
sending it to you. Hope this helps alittle.

There are a couple of things that you could consider, one requires some help from the architects, who really should be more considerate.

If you can't get any help at all from the architects, get yourself a copy of Building Systems - pricing for this just changed, so you get BSE and BSM together, which is a good thing. This will give you a full set of display controls, not just what is in the Object Enabler, so you can go in and change what you need. The Building Systems package is intended for MEP work anyway, so you might want to seriously consider getting one copy for ecvaluation. It can work in a networked licensed mode, and can be set up so that a small pool of lienses is available to every one of your 60 users.

If you can get some cooperation from the architects, get them to import a screened display configuration into their drawings. The OE will allow you to set that configuration as current, and with a little tweaking, you could get it to work exactly how you want.

I just sat thru the Online demonstrations from AU, which I think are going to be repeated tomorrow. The Building Mechanical and Electrical look good to me -- as Charles says, they are offering them together, and in packages with Autocad or ADT. Bob
