A little help needed please

The story so far.....

I've just unpacked my shiny new HP XW Workstation, installed ADT 2007 and then un-installed it preferring to use ADT 2006 until I have time to really assess the new features.

For some reason this all singing and dancing PC (compared to my old RM machine) is absolutely dog slow. Has anyone got an insight into the HP Performance Tools etc.. and ADT or any setting advice?

This is a 3.4 GHz, 2Gb RAM PC with an Nvidia FX 3450 graphics card and it performs like my old 486!

All help gratefully received.

Ben

Hardware discussion area on this server is probably a better
place to post if you want to try there.

it's zooming nad panning trying setting...

VTOPTIONS (for zooming speed)

options>system>properties>and change it from software to hardware
acceleration

WHIPTHREAD (if you have a dual proccesor)
0
No multithreaded processing; restricts regeneration and redraw
processing to a single processor. This setting restores the behavior of
AutoCAD 2000 and previous releases.

1
Regeneration multithreaded processing only; regeneration processing is
distributed across two processors on a multiprocessor machine.

2
Redraw multithreaded processing only; redraw processing is distributed
across two processors on a multiprocessor machine.

3
Regeneration and redraw multithreaded processing; regeneration and
redraw processing is distributed across two processors on a multiprocessor
machine.

It's mainly when in hidden/rendered and trying to select ISO views or free rotate. Everything else is normal.....
