I have some underground Electrical and Telecom Utilities and some stucture above the surfaces when i am working with the utility design software i am not getting my Cables below the surface like we have pipes in civil 3d , Can any one help.
The depth and offset of duct, conductors and cables are controlled by the 3D Model assigned to the Segment model as well as the 3D Model assigned to the model of the structure to which the linear objects are connected. The 3D Models are assigned in the Industry Model Configuration for Segment models and the models for the corresponding structure. Also, corresponding details should be assigned to the models to provide editing of port assignments.
The end points of the linear objects (ducts, conductors, cables) should coincide with the assigned 3D ports on the structure, defined by the structure's 3D model. For intermediate points along the linear object (along the trench) the points will be determined according to the offsets defined in the 3D model for the Segment model and the port assignments of each linear object within that segment.
Port assignments are made by editing an inserted detail (AUDDETAILINSERT) either directly (in the latest release) or via the AUDDETAILEDIT command.
Typically, the 3D model for a segment can simply be a copy of the corresponding detail of the trench with port definitions added.
For an example of a 3D model for a structure, refer to the Vault models in the templates provided with the product.
