Section view "Comment" settings

We are trying to find the settings to control the "Comments" of sections (cuts).  When we create a section view, the default comments are displayed as:

%%Pos

SCALE: %%Scale

This is the dimension style settings for "Assembly".

We need the default for section views to be:

SECTION %%Vname

SCALE: %%Scale

Right now we need to manually override this setting for each section (right-click, Adjust style), in order for it to be labeled properly.  See attached "Adjusted style for Section A-A" showing the end results of the override settings for A-A taken from B1.

Does anyone know how to take better control of the section settings?  Thanks!

Unfortunately there is no such easy way in general change in styles.

We have a gap here and manual change is suggested only.

I would create a "Dimensioning style" <Dim1> in which you overwrite what the title is.

I would create a Template that will use the newly created dimenioning style <Dim1>. In this way, every time you "Attach drawing" to an...Assembly, ASD will use the Dim1 style.

That's how I do it.

Another option is to modify you dimension style.  Well, not modify, but to add another.

This example is on an assembly:

By default, Assembly - Standard is the style that is applied to the detail view.  From the ribbon, click on Dimension Styles to bring up the dialog of availables.  Click on assembly, and hit NEW.  Name this style, Assembly - Section.   Modify the style to suit your needs, then save back out.

Once you've created your view, changing to the new style is as simple as clicking the Change Style button from the Ribbon, and selecting Assembly - Section.

This method isn't perfect, nor is it automatical in recognizing the section/cut/detail but it does save some time and makes the process more repeatable.
