Running ASD as vanilla AutoCAD

In pre 2013 versions of ASD there where 2 icons installed on the desktop to run either ASD or AutoCAD with the ASD installer

With 2013 there is now only 1 icon cfreated (for running ASD) and an installer for ACAD was not included.

Running the acad.exe in program files directly still opens the product as ASD.

The reason I'm asking is that we have a mix of ACAD and Structure Suite licenses and I would like to be able to run ASD in AutoCAD only mode so that it uses an ACAD license instead of the revit suite license.

Is the alternative solution to get a copy of vanilla ACAD installed?

Hi Alec, this is a quick fix actually.

Open your ASD and check on the options dialog box on the profiles tab if you have a vanilla autocad profile.

If yes, you can create a shortcut that will start ASD as vanilla AutoCAD.

Follow the link to follow the setup process.
