Manual shortening deletes dimensions

Sometimes, or maybe often, when I use manual shortening to shorten a view that was not sufficently shortened in auto shortening, the dimensions get deleted. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks in advance.

I tried it with no success in repeating it.

Could you just check me, if overall dimensions are switched off then in style adjustment window?

I had moved on somewhat by the time I saw your reply and I now can't be sure if overall dimensions was switched off at the time. It is not switched off now but also I can't reproduce the problem now.

In the meantime I have made multiple templates with varying amounts of shortening and I am able to produce the kind of drawings I want without using manual shortening.
