Image Quality - Map 2008 and AutoCAD 2006

A user of mine noticed (and I have confirmed on another machine) that the image quality of TIF files is not as sharp inside Map 2008 as it is in AutoCAD 2006. The difference is noticeable both on-screen and when plotting. We have tested using the same DWG file and the same image.

Perhaps it is just these specific TIF's which he scanned? I really don't know. Has anyone encountered anything similar with this?

One of our clients reported this kind of behavior with Map 3D 2005 and Map 3D 2008. I tested it with uncompressed bitonal tiff image. In 2008 it shows like drawn with thicker pencil. Plot shows also the difference but it is not so obvious as in display.
