Error message using Autocad/Rasterdesign 2011

I have a trial version of Autocad and Rasterdesign 2011 loaded on my PC.

After inserting a scanned image into Autocad/Rasterdesign and saving the file as a dwg.

I attempt to do some clean up work on the raster image – using the rasterdesign

Tools from the drop down menu -  Raster/Raster Entity Manipulation/Create Region/Rectangle.

After I outline the area with the rectangle tool , I get an error message – Autocad Error Aborting

Fatal error: Unhandled access violation reading 0x0000 exception at 10ecdeeh

When I pick ok – it gives me the message That Autocad cannot continue- You can attempt to save changes to a particular location. Then it says after saving you can open or recover the file.

So basically it blows out of autocad.

I have attempted this numerous times and the same thing happens.

Does anyone know what may be causing this.
