I have a project with many hundred existing drawings that I need to turn into hybrid raster drawings. I have both the originals as well as PDF's of all the drawings. To save time I thought converting the PDF's to TIFF's would be the way to go. I found a couple different tools to do this quickly.
The problem I am running into is that the resulting TIFF's are not bitonal (a single file DWG is a requirement, so all raster images need to be embedded).
If I use the IDEPTH I lose to much of the data. I really need a tool that will convert all non-white pixels into black. I can do the cleanup required later to tidy up the mess.
I found a couple other tools outside of RD to do this as well but the results are still not good enough (they still delete the more faded colors).
I imagine that pure graphic editors like Photoshop may do the trick. I do have the free Photoshop clone Pain.net.
Any advise would be appreciated.
