Yes, I use R12 DOS as my main production platform on a '98SE machine.
1.8GH AMD chip and 512 MB Ram makes R12 a hot rod.
I am having problems with the new hardware. Windows 98 drivers aren't
up to speed and XPs DOS is severely lacking when it comes to the PHARLAP
DOS Extender.
I wouldn't try either R10 or R11 as they weren't all that hot with
Windows memory managers and both were a bit flaky themselves.
2.62 was very stable and great for laptops that didn't have much
hardware. I still use a P133 Acer for field dimensions and it would be
nice to have a very small compact CAD program on it.
I don't think you will find any legit stuff out there 'cause no one is
supporting it and reselling has been severely limited.
Vinyl and 8 tracks never were great technologies, R12 was. -David

A few years ago, I had freelance work to do at home..And I didn't have R14 or R2000. Then, on a group of 10 3.5 disks, I found an old version of R12. On a fast computer, everything loaded in a flash, it worked so fast! The macro buttons with the letters only were also a real flashback. And most of the commands were still there. Just no tabs of course.
