USB port plotting to HP450C

I have a HP Presario laptop with only USB ports and WINXP. My HP Designjet 450C Plotter with AutoCad14 insists on a LPT1 port. I have a GearHead USB to Parallel cord but cannot fool the AutoCad printer config to accept the plot. Need help please!!!

The AutoCad printer config page insists on a LPT1 port after I indicate parallel printing choice. How do I get around this?
Thanks, Joe

Post and search HP's open public forums on how to rig that plotter with a
USB-only laptop:

Hi Dean,
I did post on HP both on their laptop and printer forums, before I came here, and got no help at HP. I came trolling here hoping someone had solved this problem with the AutoCad plotter config page which requires an LPT1 parallel port for this HP450C plotter. Thanks, Joe

Keep at it and repost periodically: HP's forums, just like there, are
end-user based and you have to catch the right person at the right time.

You can also Google Search: but you will find more problems with plotting
from USB ports in AutoCAD to plotter with no USB ability than anything else.
