Redefining text style in attributes

I have some Softdesk S8 point blocks with attributes that have the text set for 12 degrees of obliquing. How can I redefine the attributes so that the text all has obliquing of 0 degrees? I have redefined the text style already, and also tried redefining the point block itself with the proper text qualities, but neither of those two attempts worked. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Craig

Does ATTREDEF vs redefining the block work?

Yes, I have tried ATTREDEF, but it only works for new definitions of the block. I want to change the appearance of existing blocks as well. Is this any different because these are Softdesk points that are stored in an external database?

If I recall correctly, if you change the properties of text styles used by
attributes in blocks already inserted in drawings, the attributes do not update
automatically.  The only way to update them is to use attedit and reenter
the style name for each attribute.  This can be automated in a lisp routine
that globally steps through attributes and replaces the text style name (I think
I had a routine that did this at one time, but I don't know where it is
now).

Carl / Craig,

ATTREDEF works for me... by having copy one of the blocks, explode,
reset the attribute definition's text style and then ATTREDEF and they
all update.  Also the method you mention works (but can be painfully
slow) I agree that there must be tools to help automate this...

Possibly:

Dotsoft's BlockTools

http://www.dotsoft.com

or

cad nauseum's DDEdText and/or DDChText

http://www.users.bigpond.com/stevejohnson/

Using the Express Tool BATTMAN's SYNCH option doesn't update them...
would be a nice wish list.
