Orphaned Xref What is it?

What is an "Orphaned Xref"? Can't find any explanation in the "Help" files.

Ok, let's see if I can explain this...........
You have several x-refs in the main drawing:
X-ref B - the orphaned one
X-ref A - another one in the same main dwg

A is x-reffing B into it and both are x-reffed into the main drawing. You
need to find X-ref A so that you can go into it and redifine the path so
that it will load properly.

whew!? I got lost.....

The drawing your exreffing has a drawing xreffed into it also, and can't
find.....
