missing dot (point)

In attempting to insert a point (a dot), the insertion remains blank (invisible) unless the same is reconfigured to be a box or an x. What is happening that would make the dot itself function improperly?
Thanks for your time,
Heidi

You need to look at PDMODE & PDSIZE

Are you drawing them on DEFPOINTS or a layer that is OFF?

You are using the POINT command?

Hi Tracy,
This is still an issue. Here is the latest from the architect:
I use the point command, and I have been trying to draw them on various layers for the last 2 years and even though they do not appear visible on the screen, they can be selected for erasure or movement by AutoCad, they just are not visible.
Do you have any other helpful tips to offer us? THANK YOU for your time.

Use a block instead?

Is this with any drawing or just one?

If the layer is not off...
You are not drawing on the Defpoints layer with Layer 0 off or frozen...

You have checked PDSIZE & PDMODE (anything other than 0 or 1)
And then you are doing a REGEN after you change PDSIZE & PDMODE...
(DDPTYPE)

You might have a video issue?

Can you post an example in the Customer files area as an attachment so
we can have a look at it?
