Favor to ask

I am unable to open some dxfs because I am getting an incomplete dxf error. Im told this could be because the dxf was created with r14. Could somebody with r14 try and open them and if possible try to convert them to 2009 compatible drawings?

It works with 2007 but worth a try:

Open your DXF file in Microsoft Word. In the File Conversion dialog box, under Text encoding, select Windows (default) and click OK. On the File menu, click Save As. In the Save As dialog box, select Plain Text (*.txt) from the Save as type drop-down list. Click Save. In the File Conversion dialog box, under Text encoding, select Windows (default). Make sure that the End lines with option is set to CR/LF. Click OK to save the file. Locate the saved .txt file in Windows Explorer and rename the extension to DXF.

Thanks, I tried that initially but it did not work for me. There is a converter though that I used that worked perfectly. Its at http://anydwg.com/dxf-to-dwg-ex.html.
