Adding a set of numbers in Autocad

I used to be able to select a set of random numbers on the Autocad drawing screen and add them by using a simple command called ADD.
This was in the earlier versions of Cad R12 and the like.
I'm not sure if it was a special lisp routine or if it was part of the package.
The command worked as follows:
1. type the "add" command on the command line.
2. Select the numbers in the drawing area.
3. Press enter and you get a sum.
Does anyone know how i can do this simple thing in Autocad 2010?
I know it is a very simple thing but when adding a lot of figures all the time it does save lots of time.

There never was such a command in AutoCAD, it's always been an add-on Lisp.

Do you perhaps have the lisp routine written down somewhere / can you point me in a direction to find it.
